2007 OWLE AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Ontario Women in Law Enforcement held their 9th Annual Awards Banquet on May 4th, 2007 in Mississauga. The award recipients for the nine major awards came from law enforcement services across Ontario. Nominees, family members, guests, senior managers, Police Chiefs, Association Representatives and corporate sponsors from across the province attended the event.

Special guests included Monte Kwinter, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Deputy Minister Debra Newman, Community Safety and Correctional Services, Deputy Chief Leanne Fitch, Fredericton Police and Region 11 Co-Ordinator of the International Association of Women Police.

The award recipients were selected from thirty nominations received from across Ontario. Award winners were chosen by the Advisory Council of the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement.

In addition to the major awards civilian and sworn members were recognized with the Service Recognition Award for 35 yrs, 30 yrs and 25 yrs service.
