Constable Lynn Hamilton - Excellence in Performance

The second recipient has consistently delivered a high level of service, work performance and dedication throughout her 17-year career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Her nominator considers her a remarkable investigator with a natural inherent ability, who displays professionalism, honesty and dedication in every facet of her assignments.

Her accomplishments are many and include:
  • Volunteering her time to play hockey with Special Olympics athletes
  • Developing and implementing a program identifying the impact of trafficking of counterfeit goods on the community
  • Participating in an undercover drug investigation that took her to Thailand where she secured two kilos of heroin and the arrest of many suspects
  • 19 other undercover operations including one involving national security under the Official Secrets Act and two breech of trust probes directed towards corrupt law enforcement officers
  • an 18-month drug investigation into the activities of the Hell s Angels in London, Ontario
And she was the first woman in 25 years to be accepted in the Joint Forces Operations of the Criminal Intelligence Section of the RCMP.

Throughout all this, this officer has consistently performed at an above average level striving for perfection in her service delivery. Her positive frame of mind is an inspiration to others making her a worthy recipient for the Excellence in Performance award.
